Was introduced to this spot by a friend. We went together to dine in. This is my first dine in experience for fried chicken. The chicken was very crispy on the skin and the meat itself was juicy & tender on the inside. The promotion to add more drumsticks came clutch. Mygroup ordered more drumsticks. And it was enough chicken for me to upgrade from the regular chicken dinner to jumbo dinners for "cheap". A lot of my friends that saw my social media post asked about this spot. This seems to be slept on by many. Very lowkey spot. Very friendly service, very prompt.
Went here for dinner with friends tonight. Everyone enjoyed an excellent chicken meal. The chicken was crispy and delicious and it came with two sides (your choice), which were generous. Try the pineapple coleslaw! Prices are reasonable and they offer a modest cash discount. I used to live not far from this place and ate here then - but that was long ago. The restaurant is a fixture and has been updated and seems quite popular. Try it!
Personally I like this fried chicken more than Roscoe's. I know I know but Dinah's breading and flavor are more consistent. Not overly fried and juicy tender meat. People keep coming in and out of the restaurant walking out with buckets and trays of just fried chicken. If that doesn't tell you something good let me tell you more. They even have batter fried fish and shrimp. They're also not overly breaded or fried. My mom loves the fried liver and gizzards mix. So crunchy!!! As for the sides it's hit or miss. I feel that their Mac needs more cheese or something. Their waffles are delish. Signature pineapple slaw is a must even though it's not my favorite. I like their mashed potatoes a lot. Add the gravy so creamy!!! I also really like their rolls. Thick yet soft. They also have a variety of pies that you can get with ice cream!!! I love their apple pie with vanilla ice cream but there are so many other flavors to choose from. Highly recommend historic Dinah's for your fried chicken cravings!!!
Our neighbor gave us some of their chicken and we loved it so we stopped by Dinah's! We were seated quickly and food came by pretty fast. There's a take away version of the chicken dinner but it's not available dine in. We ended up getting one chicken dinner meal, which includes three pieces of chicken, two sides and a dinner roll. They also have a $1 drumstick special for every $5 spent. The chicken again was tasty and didn't need extra condiments. Nice crunch and juicy. The mashed potatoes and gravy were as expected. The macaroni and cheese were creamy but could use a little pepper. There's available parking in the lot though if it gets busy street parking is available close by. Bathrooms are pretty nice too.
It's just as good as Gus's fried Chicken in Burbank, but this place has better sides. My brother got the mac & cheese, and mashed potatoes and gravy. I got mac salad and mac & cheese. The mashed potatoes and mac & cheese are the best sides we had at this restaurant. The mac salad is bland and something I wouldn't recommend. As a matter of fact, the mac salad at Ralph's supermarket is far superior. The mashed potatoes has a light gravy which is flavorful and comes in a good size portion. The mac & cheese comes with several kinds of cheese and also comes in a generous amount. I would definitely come back. The best fried chicken in Glendale.
Excellent fried chicken restaurant in Glendale! It's an institution that has been around since 1967. Easy online ordering, and the food was ready fast. Dedicated parking lot and easy pickup. We ordered the Family Special + a couple sides. The chicken, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, fries, and stuffing were all delicious. Reasonably priced and good portion sizes. Overall I highly recommend checking out this place if you are craving comfort food!
Man oh Man! I have been sleeping on this one right here. A legend. Forget pictures of famous people on the walls. Dinah's Chicken in Glendale is Great!!! Super Chill with an Old School Vibe. Really Great Service, fast and friendly. And the Chow... soooo good. Picture perfect. Great flavor. I highly suggest coming and experiencing this really cool spot with great food and service. I am definitely coming back.
